(1) Laurel Hill Creek at Ursina is an Ecological Basic Fixed Site sampled to provide reference conditions for comparison with other sites in the Fixed Site network. Complete ecological sampling was conducted along with selected water-column constituents. Additionally, trace element and organochlorine compounds associated with the bed sediment were sampled (see Bed-Sediment and Tissue Study). In contrast to the standard Basic Fixed Site Assessment, this site was not sampled for pesticides and VOC's and was not sampled for monthly water chemistry. This site is not included on the Basic Fixed-Site Study location map.
