This project is being done in cooperation with the
Chester County Water Resources
Authority and the Chester County Health
Department.
NEED FOR THE PROJECT
Ground-water-quality data have been collected in Chester County by the U.S. Geological Survey
since 1925. Ground-water-quality data for over 2,100 wells reside in the USGS database. Although much
of the data have been statistically analyzed for various studies, the last county-wide statistical
analysis was done by Sloto (1994) for data up to 1989. Most of the data have never been spatially analyzed.
