STATION.--03007800ALLEGHENY RIVER AT PORT ALLEGANY, PA LOCATION.--Lat 41`49'07", long 78`17'35",McKean County, Hydrologic Unit 05010001,on right bank 40 ft upstream from bridge on U.S. Highway 6at Port Allegany, 1.1 mi upstream from Twomile Creek,1.4 mi downstream from Allegheny Portage Creek,and at mile 285.5. DRAINAGE AREA.--248 mi2. PERIOD OF RECORD.--October 1974 tocurrent year. Discharge measurements obtained byU.S. Army Corps of Engineers March 1971 to October 1974. GAGE.--Water-stage recorder. Datum ofgage is 1,454.88 ft above sea level. REMARKS.--U.S. Army Corpsof Engineers satellite telemeter at station. EXTREMES OUTSIDE PERIOD OF RECORD.--Floodof June 23, 1972 reached a stage of at least 17.5 ft,discharge, 21,700 ft3/s, from U.S. Army Corps of Engineersdischarge measurement. COOPERATION.--Funding for the operationof this station is provided bythe New York Department of Environmental Conservation,the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers,and the U.S. Geological Survey.
